That doesn't mean it isn't great, it is and it has been around for over 20 years. At one time they had two locations. There was a super nice one on Amsterdam Ave. and another larger location on east 86th. They know the business. The newest location is the perfect size room. It has 26 Brunswick Gold Crown tables with napless cloth and two Valley bar boxes in the bar. What struck me the first time I went to Amsterdam Billiards (besides how good looking the place is) was how well arranged the place is with ample space around the tables, comfortable seating, baskets under the table for your jackets etc. These folks really know how to run a nice room.  It's gonna be big city prices on everything. Welcome to NY. The table time is from $5.50 to $8.50 per person / per hour depending on when you are there. Considering the prices of everything else in NYC this is affordable entertainment. Open 365 days a year Noon to 3am weekdays, 11am to 4am Weekends. If you play pool non-stop, it's still cheaper than an apartment. Tony Robles is the house pro, offering lessons by the hour. The place has been full of pro players and celebrities every time I have been there. (withholding names for privacy) So while this isn't the only pool room you should visit in NYC, it should be one of them.
